Sony Xperia Z Tablet Specs Leak Hinting Full HD 1080p Display: A Big Threat to Nexus 10?
Recently, Sony scorched the CES show floor by taking the wraps off its Xperia Z and Xperia ZL smartphones. Now, it looks like the Japanese tech giant is planning to release an Xperia Z tablet shortly.
According to a SlashGear report, leaks started coming out of the Xperia_info twitter account which claims that Sony is coming out with a 10 inch tablet codenamed ‘Pollux'.
Speaking of rumored specs, Xperia Z Tablet tablet is speculated to sport a 10.1 inch display with a full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 2.2MP front camera for video calling, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, NFC and 6,000 mAh battery.
Claimed to be designed on the lines of the Xperia Z smartphone, the tablet is rumored to be waterproof and dust resistant. As of now, there is no official information from Sony regarding the tablet, however, reports claim that the tablet will be making its way into the market in the latter half of the year.
At the same time, if looking across the launches of past year, Google fired a shot across other major tech manufacturer's bow, with the launch of Nexus tablet range including Nexus 7 and 10 inch tablet entrant Nexus 10. Till now, both the tablets have proved to be quite successful in the Android tablet market and also have the competitive abilities to hamper the sales of Apple iPads.
When it comes to Nexus 10, the device packs a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1560 x 1600 pixels and 300 ppi pixel density. Also, Nexus 10 houses a 1.7GHz A15 dual-core processor, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, 16GB and 32GB internal storage options, 2GB RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB, micro HDMI, dual side NFC, GPS+Glonass connectivity features and and a 9,000 mAh Li-ion battery offering up to 9 hours video playback and 500 hours standby.
With that in mind and analyzing the specifications of Nexus 10 in comparison to the rumored specs of Xperia Z tablet, many tech experts are anticipating that just like Xperia Z has come out as a standing rival against Google Nexus smartphone, possibilities are quite high that Xperia Z tablet, when launched with a full HD display will definitely hold all the potentials to rival and challenge the likes Nexus 10 - the Samsung made Google branded tablet.
Let us know, what is your opinion on the same, if the rumors about Sony Xperia Z tablet comes out to be true, will the tablet be able to outshine Nexus 10? or will it be just another add on to the tablet offerings present in the market, just like the previous Xperia tablets?
