Toshiba Launches Excite Go Android Tablet with Windows-Based Encore 8 and 10
Japanese tech firm Toshiba has just announced its latest tablets in a very affordable price. The trio of tablets come dubbed as Toshiba Encore 8, Encore 10 and Excite Go. The first two tablets are based on Windows platform while the last one is an Android-based. The company says that the Excite Go tablet will cost as low as $110 which is approximately Rs. 6,479 if converted to Indian currency.
Going individually, the Encore duo, which comes in 8-inch and 10-inch display variants, is equipped with a quad-core Intel Atom chip and a modest 800 x 1280-pixel resolution. One thing that stands out about these devices is the price point they are being offered at. The 8-inch Encore 8 will cost just $200 (approx. Rs. 11,780), while its 10-inch variant price is set at $270 (approx. Rs. 15,903). It should be noted that these two tablets are Windows-based devices.
The $110 worth Toshiba Excite Go on the other hand is a 7-inch Android-based tablet. It is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom chip that Toshiba says can power the device for up to 8 hours. It's also got the advantage of running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat on board. However, the tablet has a very low screen resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels. But yes, at the given price-point some parts will obviously get compromised. You will find 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. In addition, the tablet features microUSB 2.0 port, microHDMI, and 1GB of RAM.

It would go on sale in the U.S. in July. It is not clear if the company plans to launch the tablet in other markets.
According to Toshiba, the Excite Go will come pre-loaded with OfficeSuite Pro for document creation and edition as well as Toshiba TruCapture app, which improves the readability of images from whiteboards and books by automatically removing borders, straightening distortion, reducing glare and noise, sharpening and brightening contrast.
