Asus will likely fetch maximum number of awards for innovation later this month at MWC, slated to happen at Barcelona, Spain. The multinational PC hardware manufacturer, and now the proud maker of Nexus 7, is prepping to launch a new futuristic device in the form of FonePad. The company behind PadFone is ready to be a front runner with a 7-inch FonePad: a multifunctional device with the goodness of tablet and phone functionality.

This can be said as the company has already started sending media guys invites for a press conference to be held on February 25 at the MWC 2013.

Relatively, report published in Digitimes recently stated that the Taiwanese- based tech giant is prepping to go ahead with its plans by launching Intel Atom powered PhonePad. The company will sell the device at around $271- 305(Rs. 14,395- Rs16,201) at launch.

Rumors of the coming of Asus FonePad release have been running all over the internet for quite some time. As Mobile World Congress (MWC), is about to happen, later this month; it is obvious that the alleged specifications of Asus FonePad are in real. Well, as per various reports, the FonePad will likely to be powered by Intel Atom Z242 processor , Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 7-inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels , 16GB/32GB of internal memory , 1GB of RAM , W-Fi, 3G , A-GPS and Bluetooth connectivity. Whether it supports 4G LTE is still a mystery.

By now, the rumored specifications, looks tempting. No picture of Asus Fonepad has surfaced till now. Going by the past record of Asus - the build quality will likely to be top notch. The company is in habit of launching sturdy and mesmerizing design marvels. Take for instance, Nexus 7, a 7-inch budget tablet that costs $ 200(Rs. 10,624) in US market, but can give a Samsung made tablets in tad scrutiny. Another fabled tablet by Asus that was the talk of the town last year and it has to be - Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.

The Taiwanese giant including Google messed up with the pricing of Asus Nexus 7. Priced at around Rs. 20, 000, it is indeed an expensive tablet making potential buyers to look for alternative tablet models.
