India is an important market for Samsung, considering that the company has lately been seen bringing its top of the line smartphones on shelves in India, soon after their global unveiling. A recent example is the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ that was recently introduced to the audience in India just about a week past its global launch at Samsung's Unpacked event in New York.

Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 coming to India in September

Looks like, Samsung is now all set to launch the Galaxy Tab S2 in India, a source informed GizBot. The South Korean tech giant will be bringing the Galaxy Tab S2 to India in September, to cash on the festive season.

Samsung originally announced the Galaxy Tab S2 in two variants, including the Galaxy Tab S2 8 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, in July. The company promotes these refreshed models in its Galaxy Tab S tablet series as its most immersive tablet to-date, which boasts improved set of features along with better interface.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and the Galaxy S2 9.7 feature an 8-inch display and a 9.7-inch display respectively. Both tablets come with Super AMOLED displays of QXGA quality, and are powered by Samsung's Exynos 5433 chipset (quad 1.9GHz + quad 1.3GHz) with 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, which can be expanded on microSD card.

The 8-inch Galaxy Tab S2 measures in at 5.6mm, and weighs in at 265g (Wi-fi) and 272g (LTE), while its big brother weighs comparatively more at 389g for the Wi-Fi version and 392g for the LTE model. As for the battery, the 8-inch variant is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, while the bigger one includes a 5,870mAh battery.

Beyond the chipset and storage space, both variants sport an 8-megapixel primary camera paired with a 2.1-megapixel front-facing selfie camera, and offer Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, topped with the company's native UI.

As for the price of the tablets, considering the specifications that the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets pack in, we assume that these will be price in the mid-range segment.
