HP ZBook x2 detachable tablet with 4K display, Intel Core i7 processor launched
The tablet will be available in four different storage variants; 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
HP yesterday launched the ZBook x2 tablet in the US, which is claimed as the "world's first detachable workstation." Targeted at designers and artists, the tablet supports digital pen and carries a price tag of $1,749 (approximately Rs. 1,14,000). It will go on sale from December.
The HP ZBook x2 will have to fight the likes of Microsoft's Surface Pro and the newly launched Surface Book 2. The tablet is equipped with a dual-fan active cooling system to prevent overheating. It also comes with a built-in kickstand and a detachable backlit keyboard. The keyboard can be used even without being attached if connected to the HP ZBook x2 via Bluetooth.
Moreover, the tablet has HP Quick Keys with 18 Adobe app shortcuts. It can be docked to the display thanks to the HP ZBook Dock with Thunderbolt 32. The tablet additionally supports laptop-mode where users can make use of the integrated 160-degree stand and full-sized keyboard.
As per the company, the Wacom EMR pen responds instantly with almost zero latency as well as detects 4,096 levels of pressure. Quite interestingly, the pen doesn't require charging.
Talking about the specifications, the HP ZBook x2 sports a 14-inch LED-backlit anti-glare touch panel with a screen resolution of 3,840×2,160 pixels. The tablet will be available in four different storage variants; 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
Under the hood, the HP ZBook x2 is powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7 or i5 processors at the clock speed of up to 4.2GHz. It also offers NVIDIA Quadro graphics option. The tablet comes with 32GB of RAM, which is rare for detachable devices.
The tablet packs a battery with fast charging support and is said to last up to 10 hours.
As for optics, the HP ZBook x2 features an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 720p front camera. Other goodies in the package include a fingerprint scanner and military standard MIL-STD 810G certification.
