Huawei Unveils MatePad Pro 11 and MateBook D16 2024

Huawei recently hosted a product launch event in China, introducing the MatePad Pro 11 2024 and the MateBook D16 2024. The MatePad Pro 11 2024, equipped with Huawei's latest HarmonyOS, packs a punch with notable features and specifications.

MatePad Pro 11 2024 Overview

The MatePad Pro 11 2024 boasts an 11-inch OLED display with a crisp 1,600 x 2,560px resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and an impressive 600 nits peak brightness. Encased in a sleek aluminum chassis, the tablet is remarkably slim at just 5.9mm.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei's Kirin 9000s chipset, featuring a 1+3+4 CPU configuration. The recent Geekbench listing indicates performance comparable to the regular Kirin 9000s and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865. Accompanying the chipset is 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. A distinctive feature is its support for two-way Beidou Satellite messaging.

The MatePad Pro 11 2024 hosts a photography setup with a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide lens at the back, while the front sports a 16MP camera within a punch-hole cutout. Running on HarmonyOS 4, the tablet is fueled by an 8,300mAh battery with 66W charging support. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.2, and it introduces support for the third-generation Huawei M-Pencil.

The MateBook D16 2024 is Huawei's latest addition to their laptop lineup, running on Windows 11 Home Edition. This 16-inch IPS LCD device features a 1920x1200px resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and up to 300 nits peak brightness. Notable design elements include a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, a 1080p webcam, and a full-sized keyboard with a numpad.

Powered by a 13th Gen Intel Core i5 processor in the baseline model, the MateBook D16 2024 offers configurations with i7 and i9 processors, all equipped with 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 1TB M.2 SSD. The laptop includes a diverse set of ports, such as USB 3.2 Gen1, USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen1 (Type-C) with DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI, and a headphone/mic combo jack.

With a 70Wh battery and 65W charging support via USB-C, the MateBook D16 2024 is designed for productivity on the go. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6e and Bluetooth 5.1.

Pricing Details

The MatePad Pro 11 2024 comes in colors such as grey, blue, white, and black, with pricing starting at CNY 4,199 ($592) for the 12/256GB variant and CNY 4,699 ($663) for the 12/512GB version.

For the MateBook D16 2024, the baseline Core i5 model is priced at CNY 4,999 ($705), the Core i7 version is CNY 5,999 ($847), and the Core i9 model tops out at CNY 6,499 ($917).
