Amazon Launches All-New Kindle Paperwhite in India at ₹16,999 with 7-Inch Display and 12-Week Battery Life
Amazon has officially introduced the all-new Kindle Paperwhite in India, bringing with it a host of notable upgrades—from a larger 7-inch screen to faster page turns and longer battery life.
Priced at ₹16,999, the latest Kindle Paperwhite is now available for purchase exclusively on Amazon.in.

A Familiar Form, Now Sharper and Faster
The new Kindle Paperwhite keeps the classic e-ink reading experience intact but improves almost every key area. Its 7-inch display—the largest yet on a Paperwhite—is now encased within narrower borders, increasing the screen-to-body ratio and offering more immersive reading. This version also becomes the thinnest and lightest Paperwhite to date, aimed at making long reading sessions more comfortable on the hands.
A new dual-core processor promises 25% faster page turns, cutting down friction when flipping through pages, and the device’s improved touch-response is designed to make navigation snappier. Amazon also says the device can last up to 12 weeks on a single charge, depending on usage, which is among the longest battery spans seen in e-readers.
Display Tweaks for Better Reading Comfort
The display tech itself sees an upgrade too. Amazon has used an oxide thin-film transistor to boost contrast ratio—meaning text and illustrations now appear sharper and crisper, especially useful for graphic novels or illustrated non-fiction.

Readers can toggle between dark mode and adjustable warm light, helping them customize the screen for different lighting environments. Whether you’re reading in bright sunlight or a dim night setting, the Paperwhite aims to accommodate both extremes.
Built for Reading, Not for Notifications
One of the core ideas behind the Kindle Paperwhite has always been distraction-free reading. That philosophy remains intact. You won’t find social media pings or app notifications here—just your books, neatly stacked in a 16GB library you can carry anywhere.
And while the software has been streamlined for performance, Amazon hasn’t skimped on smart features. Readers still get access to tools like X-Ray for character or place lookups, built-in dictionary support, and Word Wise for instant definitions. These features make the Kindle useful for both casual readers and language learners alike.
Access to Indian Languages and Global Titles
The Kindle store now features over 1.5 crore eBooks globally, and Amazon continues to push support for Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, and Marathi. With Kindle Unlimited, users can read from a rotating selection of over 20 lakh eBooks, while Prime members get access to a curated catalogue at no extra cost.
Availability and Accessories
The Kindle Paperwhite is available in Black for ₹16,999 on Amazon.in. Buyers can also purchase official Kindle covers in Marine Green, Black, or Tulip Pink for ₹1,999.
