Lenovo Idea Tab Debuts with 2.5K Screen, 7040mAh Battery, and Optional Keyboard: Check Price, Specs, Features
Lenovo has added a new mid-range tablet to its lineup in India. It’s simply called the Idea Tab, and it quietly follows the earlier launch of the more premium Idea Tab Pro. This new model keeps things affordable while still packing a decent spec sheet—including Android 15 out of the box and optional 5G.
Here’s what you should know.

A More Practical Android Tablet with Just Enough Power
The Idea Tab features an 11-inch 2.5K LCD display that can hit up to 500 nits of brightness. Lenovo has also bundled TÜV Rheinland eye-care certification, which has pretty much become a standard checkbox on tablets these days.
Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 695 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. There’s also a microSD slot if you want to bump storage up to 2TB. While this isn’t a powerhouse chip, it’s enough to comfortably handle day-to-day tasks, light gaming, and streaming.
You get Android 15 right out of the box. Lenovo is promising two major OS updates (up to Android 17) and four years of security patches through 2029. That’s more than most tablets in this category tend to offer.
5G and Accessories Give It a Bit More Flexibility
The Idea Tab is available in two versions: Wi-Fi-only and 5G. That makes it a little more appealing for folks who want to use the tablet on the go without being tethered to a hotspot.
There’s also support for optional accessories—like a folio keyboard and Lenovo’s Tab Pen or Tab Pen Plus—for those who want to use the tablet for sketching or productivity tasks. Lenovo is also pitching something it calls TurboSystem, which supposedly improves app opening speeds by 19% and lets apps stay active in memory longer. How well that works in real-world use is still something to test.
Sound, Battery, and AI Features Round Things Out
Audio is handled by four speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning, and there’s still a 3.5mm headphone jack onboard. Cameras are basic: an 8MP shooter on the back and a 5MP fixed-focus camera up front.
Powering the whole thing is a 7040mAh battery with 20W charging, which should be enough for a full day’s use in most cases. Lenovo’s also added a few AI-powered tools like Circle to Search (in collaboration with Google) and Lenovo AI Note, which is aimed at note-taking and productivity.
Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo Idea Tab Wi-Fi + Pen variant is priced at ₹16,999, while the 5G + Pen variant is available for ₹19,999. It’s now on sale through Lenovo’s India website, Amazon.in, and Lenovo’s official offline retail network.
