Microsoft announces new Surface Pro for India at Rs 64,999
Microsoft brings new generation Surface Pro 2-in-1 in India.
Microsoft has announced the fifth generation of its Surface Pro 2-in-1 for the Indian market. The newly launched device comes with the same 12.3-inch display with 2160 x 1440 pixel resolution and 267 ppi. It is powered by the newest 7th generation Kaby Lake processor and claims to offer improved battery backup.
With the new Surface, users will be able to use the device for up to 13.5 hours before they look for a charger. The company says it is 50 percent more than the Surface Pro 4 and 35 percent more than Apple's iPad Pro. As far as the performance is concerned, the device claims to have 2.5 times more computing power compared to the third generation Surface Pro and up to 1.7 times more than the iPad Pro.
Camera wise, the Surface Pro boasts an 8MP rear camera, while the front-facing camera is a 5MP module. The device has a hinge with a full 165-degree range of motion, which is called the Studio Mode. It is also the most lightweight Surface the company has designed, weighing just 768g and is 8.5mm slim. Not just that, the company has also introduced a new Surface Pen that has 4096 pressure points and new inking capabilities for office apps.

As for the pricing, the Surface Pro with Intel Core m3, Intel HD Graphics 615, 4GB RAM, 128 GB SSD is priced at Rs. 64,999. The Surface Pro with Intel Core i5 with Intel HD Graphics 620, 4GB RAM, 128 GB SSD will cost you Rs. 79,999.
The Intel Core i5, Intel HD Graphics 620, 8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD model will be selling for Rs. 106,999, while the model with Intel Core i7, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640, 8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD is priced at Rs. 133,999. The costliest model comes with Intel Core i7, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and is labeled at Rs. 182,999.
The latest Surface Pro models will be selling through online Microsoft stores (Amazon and Flipkart) alongside Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales starting February 22.
