OnePlus 15s Reportedly Cancelled, New Compact 8.8-Inch Tablet Could Launch in India Instead

OnePlus is reportedly putting together a small, premium tablet for India, and the latest leak says it's not far away.

Tipster Debayan Roy has claimed that OnePlus will bring its 8.8-inch compact OLED tablet to India in Q3 2026, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The same post mentions a similar tablet from OPPO around late Q2 or Q3, plus a fresh update on the OnePlus 15s.

What To Expect From The OnePlus Compact Tablet

This 8.8-inch model has been showing up in leaks for months. It's widely expected to be a rebranded version of the OPPO Pad Mini that recently debuted in China.

Based on earlier reports, here's what's likely on the spec sheet:

• 8.8-inch OLED display, around 5.5mm thin
• Snapdragon 8 Gen 5
• 8,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging
• LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage

If that holds up, it'll be one of the very few compact Android tablets running flagship-tier silicon. The obvious comparison here is the iPad Mini, which has had the small-tablet space mostly to itself.

OPPO Could Launch A Similar Tablet Too

Debayan Roy also mentioned that OPPO is working on its own version, expected around late Q2 or Q3. The hardware should be close to the OnePlus model, but the chip will likely be different.

The OnePlus 15s Is Reportedly Cancelled

The bigger surprise from the tweet is the OnePlus 15s. The tipster says it's been cancelled for India.

This isn't the first flip in the phone's status. Back in January, Yogesh Brar tipped a 90 percent chance the 15s wouldn't happen. Then, in February, a separate leak suggested it was back on track with a tweaked camera setup. Now this latest claim suggests OnePlus has pulled the plug for real.

If accurate, India won't get a direct successor to the OnePlus 13s this year. Anyone hoping for a compact OnePlus flagship will likely need to look at the standard OnePlus 15 or wait for whatever comes next.
