OnePlus Pad 3 Announced with Bigger Display, Snapdragon 8 Elite, AI Tools, and PC-Style Accessories

OnePlus has unveiled its latest flagship tablet, the OnePlus Pad 3, as the next step in its tablet lineup. With a larger screen, upgraded internals, and a growing focus on AI-powered software, the Pad 3 looks like a device meant to do more than just stream movies or browse social media.

The tablet is now available in global markets like Europe and North America starting June 5. Indian users will have to wait a little longer, with the company saying availability and pricing will be shared in the coming weeks.

OnePlus Pad 3 Announced with Bigger Display and Snapdragon 8 Elite

A Larger Display, Designed for Multitasking

The OnePlus Pad 3 features a 13.2-inch display—the largest on a OnePlus tablet so far. It has a 3.4K resolution, 12-bit color support, and a slightly unusual 7:5 aspect ratio. That aspect ratio isn't just for looks—it’s meant to make the tablet feel more like a notebook or document page, making it easier to view and work on multiple apps side by side.

Whether you’re editing a spreadsheet, presenting a deck, or watching a film, the screen is built to adapt to what you're doing without feeling cramped. The bezels are thin, the pixel density is high, and overall, the display looks ready for both productivity and play.

Under the Hood: High-End Hardware

The Pad 3 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, depending on the variant. Storage goes up to 512GB, which should be enough for heavy users. OnePlus has also introduced a vapor chamber cooling system made of graphene composite materials to help keep temperatures under control during demanding tasks like gaming or extended video editing sessions.

Battery life could be a strong point. The Pad 3 packs a 12,140mAh battery, and OnePlus claims it can handle over 17 hours of video playback, six hours of intensive gaming, and remain on standby for up to 70 days. It also supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging, and a 10-minute charge is said to bring the battery back up by around 18 percent.

Smarter Software with AI Built In

The Pad 3 runs OxygenOS 15, which introduces several AI-powered tools. These include AI Writer and AI Summarize, designed to help with document creation, editing, and translation. There’s also integration with Google’s Gemini and Circle to Search, offering more ways to interact with the device beyond standard taps and swipes.

Multitasking is another area of focus. The Open Canvas feature, already present on older OnePlus tablets, has been improved. It now supports smoother drag-and-drop between apps and even suggests splitting the screen automatically when it detects multitasking behavior—like when you’re messaging someone while navigating through maps.

New Accessories That Feel More Like a Laptop

OnePlus is also offering updated accessories to go with the Pad 3. The new OnePlus Pad Keyboard now features larger keys, dedicated command buttons, and a new AI shortcut key. It also has an adjustable hinge that can tilt between 110 and 165 degrees, making it easier to use the tablet in different modes.

The updated OnePlus Stylo 2 stylus supports up to 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity. A quick swipe from the top right corner opens up screen annotation, and tapping the screen while it’s locked launches a notes page—useful for quick sketches or reminders.

There's also a redesigned tri-fold folio case, which can now hold the stylus magnetically and lets you prop up the tablet at multiple angles, from low writing positions to upright viewing modes.

A Subtle but Solid Design Upgrade

In terms of design, the Pad 3 keeps things slim and clean. It has a metal unibody build, measures under 6mm thick, and comes in two finishes: Storm Blue and Frosted Silver. The back camera gets a refreshed look, but the layout stays fairly minimal. OnePlus has also added a new eight-speaker system with symmetrical placement—four woofers and four tweeters—for improved audio during games and streaming.

No India Price Yet

While the tablet is now on sale in several regions, OnePlus hasn’t revealed pricing or sale dates for India yet. With the device already live elsewhere, it’s likely Indian availability will follow soon.
