Samsung started teasing a new Android tablet aimed at the midrange segment last week. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 will be available on Amazon India and Flipkart, a poster put up on both the e-commerce platform has revealed.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 could be a game-changer in the midrange tablet segment owing to its specifications and features. Let's look at all the available details of the upcoming Android tablet from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 To Launch On October 5 on Amazon And Flipkart In India

Samsung has begun teasing the arrival of a new tablet in India. The first teaser for the tablet splashed on Flipkart. Now, another poster has appeared on Amazon India.

Incidentally, Samsung India and Amazon India have jointly set up a dedicated microsite for a tablet on the former's e-commerce platform. Although the teasers available on the page do not explicitly mention the name of the device, the URL confirms Samsung is hinting at the arrival of the Galaxy Tab A9.

The teaser confirms Samsung will unveil a tablet on October 5, 2023. As the first teaser for a Samsung tablet appeared on Flipkart, and later surfaced on Amazon India, it strongly indicates both platforms will offer the same.

It is possible that Samsung has timed the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 to coincide with the Flipkart Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Shopping Festival.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Specifications, Features

The Galaxy Tab A9 recently appeared in the Google Play Console database, revealing a few key specifications. The Tab A9, referred to as SM-X115, features a display with a resolution of 800 x 1340 pixels.

As the name suggests, the Tab A9 belongs to the budget category. Hence, Samsung may have used an IPS LCD display instead of an AMOLED panel to keep the costs down.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which is paired with just 4 GB of RAM. It is not immediately clear but Samsung may try and avoid mentioning gaming on this tablet even though the Helio G99 is often promoted as a budget gaming chipset.

The Galaxy Tab A9 should boot Android 13 with One UI 4.0 out of the box. While there would be a Wi-Fi-only variant of the tablet, some reports suggest Samsung offer a model with support for 4G connectivity.

Samsung hasn't offered more details of Tab A9. However, in addition to India, Samsung may launch the tablet in multiple other markets such as the UAE and Thailand.

A recent leak also claimed Samsung is readying the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus 5G. As the name suggests, this tablet will be a higher variant of the Tab A9 4G, and it will support 5G connectivity. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 may start slightly above ₹20,000, the top-end variant may be priced above ₹30,000.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 5G Plus edition has also received certification from India's BIS. Hence, Samsung could launch the tablet, but the company may delay the launch to first sell the Wi-Fi-only and 4G variants of the tablet.
