Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 to feature a 10.5-inch display, Android Oreo
Just like last year, Samsung could unveil the Galaxy Tab S4 at MWC 2018.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ may steal all the limelight now, the company is expected to launch the Galaxy Tab S4 at MWC 2018. If you recall, the Galaxy Tab S3 was launched at MWC 2017. Presumably, the South Korean tech giant will follow the same launching pattern this year. Earlier this week, the Galaxy Tab S4 made an appearance on GFXBench benchmarking site with the model number SM-T835.
The HTML5 benchmark screenshot has now surfaced online by GalaxyClub. The leak shows that the tablet will be featuring a display with an aspect ratio of 16:10. Further, it is also confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will run on Android 8.0 Oreo OS right out of the box. While this is all the HTML5 test screenshot has revealed, the earlier GFXBench listing gave us some idea of the device's specifications.
According to the GFXBench listing, the Galaxy Tab S4 will arrive with a large 10.5-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2,560×1,600. The screen resolution suggests the device will have an aspect ratio of 8:5 which is same as 16:10.
The device was also listed with an octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.3GHz and paired with the Adreno 540 GPU on top. The name of the chipset is not specified, but the information hints towards the Snapdragon 835 SoC.
Do note that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was launched with a flagship processor from 2016. So it makes sense that the Galaxy Tab S4 will be powered by Qualcomm's 2017 flagship processor, the Snapdragon 835.
In the memory department, the Galaxy Tab S4 will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage space, which can probably be expanded further using a microSD card.
When it comes to optics, the upcoming tablet is equipped with a 12MP rear-facing primary camera with flash, and an 8MP selfie snapper at the front. Finally, the Samsung device will come with a single SIM tray and cellular capabilities.
At the moment, there is no information on the tablet's price and availability. That said, we expect more leaks will emerge in the coming days, revealing details about the Galaxy Tab S4.
