Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 likely to sport 18:9 display, Snapdragon 660 SoC
Xiaomi is been reported for the preparation of the launch of its Mi Pad 3 successor.Xiaomi tablet is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC. The tablet is rumored to be titled Mi Pad 4.
Xiaomi has successfully launched its Mi 6X in China, and now the company is been reported for the preparation of the launch of its Mi Pad 3 successor.
Last year Xiaomi was reported to be working on a new tablet. However, we are yet to see any image leak of the device. But if the reports turn to be true then, Xiaomi may soon announce the upcoming tablet dubbed as Mi Pad 4.
According to firmware files, the upcoming of a Xiaomi tablet will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The tablet is rumored to be titled Mi Pad 4. But the company is yet to officially announce anything.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 rumored specifications
According to XDA Developers, who secured the firmware files, the MIUI configuration for the device claimed that it is a 'pad' and nothing else, confirming it is indeed the files for the tablet.
The default screen density of the device is set to 320, which is an extremely low value. This type of low-value screen density is expected from a tablet that shows a lot of content on the screen as compared to a 6-inch smartphone.
The firmware files revealed that the Mi Pad 4 will come with a bigger 6,000mAh non-removable battery. It is expected that the Mi Pad 4 will feature an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The 18:9 screen will make this tablet to be the first one in the category to sport a narrow bezel screen. The display panel is expected to be LCD instead of OLED.
The files also disclose that the device will come with a Snapdragon 660 chipset. However, the clocking speed will be 2.0GHz instead of its usual processing rate 2.2GHz. As of now, there is no information available on the RAM and storage space of the Mi Pad 4. But on the other side firmware files disclosed that the tab might come with a microSD slot which will help in the expansion of the storage.
On the camera part, the Mi Pad 4 is expected to offer a single camera sensor on the rear with 13-megapixel OmniVision OV13855 sensor along with an aperture of f/2.0. On the front, the device may feature a 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E8 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0. The device will not support a 4K recording but it will support portrait mode.
The files also reveal that Mi Pad 4 will not be coming with an NFC support either. However, it's too early to believe any rumors right now, because there are many more to come which might reveal more details of the device. Till then it's better to take all these information with the pinch of salt.
