Xiaomi Pad 9, Pad 9 Pro Flagship Android Tablets Launched with Snapdragon Chipset, Hi Res Audio, 144Hz Display

Xiaomi has expanded its tablet lineup in China with the new Xiaomi Pad 9 and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro, bringing larger displays, upgraded Snapdragon processors and optional matte screen variants.

The Pad 9 targets entertainment, note taking and everyday use with an 11.2 inch display, while the Pad 9 Pro steps up to a 12.5 inch panel aimed more at productivity and multitasking. Both tablets are also available in Soft Light Editions with anti reflective matte glass.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Series Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Pad 9 starts at 2,999 yuan for the 8GB+128GB model. The 8GB+256GB variant costs 3,299 yuan, while the 8GB+256GB Soft Light Edition is priced at 3,499 yuan. The 12GB+256GB model costs 3,799 yuan.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro starts at 3,799 yuan for 8GB+128GB. The 8GB+256GB version costs 4,099 yuan, while the 12GB+256GB model is priced at 4,599 yuan. The 12GB+256GB Soft Light Edition costs 4,799 yuan, and the 16GB+256GB variant is priced at 4,999 yuan.

Both tablets are currently available in China. Xiaomi has not confirmed India or global launch details.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Specifications and Features

The Xiaomi Pad 9 features an 11.2 inch LCD display with a 3200×2136 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio and 144Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, DCI P3 colour, 360Hz touch sampling and 240Hz stylus sampling. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, with up to 12GB RAM.

The Pad 9 Pro gets a larger 12.5 inch display and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB RAM. Both models support Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and USB C 3.2 Gen 1.

For photography, the Pad 9 has a 13MP rear and 8MP front camera, while the Pro upgrades to a 50MP rear and 32MP front camera. Both support 4K video recording.

Audio is handled by four speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi Res Audio, along with four microphones featuring noise reduction. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, gyroscope and ambient light sensor.

Battery and Design

The Pad 9 packs a 9,720mAh battery with 45W charging, while the Pad 9 Pro gets an 11,000mAh battery with 67W charging. Xiaomi claims up to 14.5 hours of short video playback or 20 hours of online meetings on the Pro.

The Pad 9 measures 5.75mm thick and weighs 485g, while the Pad 9 Pro is 5.8mm thick and weighs 580g. Both models are offered in multiple colours, with Soft Light Editions adding matte anti reflective glass for users who read, sketch or work under bright lighting.
