Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Launch Date Set for June 18: Check Price Range and Specifications

Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Redmi Pad 2 tablet in India on June 18th. The company has confirmed that both Wi-Fi + Cellular variants will be available. Additionally, the tablet will support a stylus and is expected to be priced under Rs. 20,000. This device is already available in some countries, featuring an 11-inch 2.5K 90Hz display, MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor, quad speakers, a sleek metal body measuring 7.36mm, and a 9000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Earlier teasers from Xiaomi hinted at the launch of the Redmi Pad 2 as a successor to the original Redmi Pad released three years ago. The teaser highlighted a significant reveal on June 5th with the tagline 'Built for More,' suggesting enhancements in screen size and battery capacity. It also indicated that the tablet would be lighter and more compact than a laptop, with stylus support included.

Redmi Pad 2 Features and Variants

The global teaser for the Redmi Pad 2 revealed two colour options for the tablet and confirmed features such as an 8MP rear camera and a 3.5mm audio jack. A separate teaser for the standard Wi-Fi model introduced an additional Violet colour alongside Mint Green and Grey options. The tablet will also have a 4G model available.

According to listings in Europe, the Redmi Pad 2 will feature an impressive display with up to 600 nits peak brightness. It will include a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra SoC, a front-facing camera of 5MP, quad speakers, and a substantial battery capacity of 9,000 mAh supporting fast charging at 18W.

Pricing and Availability

The European listing priced the Redmi Pad 2 at approximately Rs. 19,395 for the Wi-Fi model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The higher-end Redmi Pad 2 with 4G connectivity offering 8GB RAM and 256GB storage was listed at around Rs. 22,320.

Post-launch in India, consumers can purchase the Redmi Pad 2 through Amazon.in, Flipkart, mi.com, as well as offline retail stores. Further details regarding its availability in India are expected to be disclosed later this week.
