Amazon Adds Dialogue Boost Feature To Amplify Speech In Movies: Will It Address Muffled Or Inaudible Sound?
Muffled speech, barely audible dialogues, or incomprehensible words spoken by characters in movies and shows is a growing problem among viewers. Attempting to address the situation and reduce the heavy reliance on subtitles to understand the context, Amazon recently added a new feature dubbed "Dialogue Boost" to Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon has added a new Audio Mode that boosts dialogue in movies and shows streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The feature should help viewers better hear what the characters are saying.

What Is Dialogue Boost And Where Is It Available?
Dialogue Boost is a new audio mode or setting. Amazon recently added this audio mode to Prime Video. The newly added feature boosts dialogue so viewers can better hear what characters say in movies and TV shows.
The feature Dialogue Boost feature is now available in the audio and subtitles menu of Prime-exclusive programs such as Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Harlem, The Big Sick, Beautiful Boy, and Being the Ricardos.

Amazon has promised that more Amazon Originals will support Dialogue Boost later this year. This may mean that shows and content that Amazon doesn't produce, might not benefit from the Dialogue Boost feature, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Dialogue Boost uses AI to analyze speech patterns and target segments where music or sound effects might overpower the dialogue. Amazon claims the feature works on all devices that support Prime Video.
Amazon Added Dialogue Boost To Improve Audibility Of Speech In Content Streaming On Prime
The sound in movies, especially the dialogue, has been getting incomprehensible. The spoken word is difficult to hear and understand while streaming content.
Studies have revealed that an increasing number of viewers are switching on subtitles while watching content on their TVs as well as portable devices such as smartphones and tablets.
Some experts have claimed the number of users turning on subtitles is rising primarily because viewers are watching content in foreign languages or trying to learn English. Hearing-impaired subscribers and viewers watching content while multitasking have regularly turned-on subtitles.
However, a common complaint among viewers is that the dialogue is comparatively too quiet, muffled, or simply inaudible. To address this shortcoming preventing viewers from enjoying content, Amazon has added the Dialogue Boost feature.
