Microsoft ChatGPT Vs Google Bard: Two Powerful Generative AI Tools Compared

Microsoft ChatGPT Vs Google Bard: Two Generative AI Tools Compared

Microsoft offered its ChatGPT in November 2022 and took the digital world by storm. Powered by OpenAI, the ChatGPT tool is now being used by millions for a variety of tasks that were once reserved for expert coders and developers. Bard AI is essentially Google's answer to ChatGPT and is yet to become available to the general public. Let's take a look at both tools and try to figure out which could be a better one.

What Are ChatGPT and Bard?

Microsoft's ChatGPT and Google's Bard are essentially Generative AI platforms. Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) is essentially a "Chat Bot" that is way smarter than any of its predecessors because it can create content based on queries from large datasets.

The questions or requests from users posted may have complex answers that primitive chatbots with limited databases won't be able to answer comprehensively. However, a platform that relies on Generative AI uses data analyzed by powerful Machine Learning models to present a usable or actionable summary.

Microsoft's ChatGPT and Google's Bard are poised to transform the way search engines function. Moving forward, users could receive a summary of answers as opposed to links to articles and content the search engine "thinks" is relevant to the query. Search engines should gradually become more interactive and hold conversations with users based on a string of queries which can progressively get more specific.

Microsoft ChatGPT Vs Google Bard: What Is The Underlying Technology?

Microsoft's OpenAI launched ChatGPT back in 2022, and it has been quickly adopted by millions of users across the world. Bard appears to be in the final testing phase and Google should release the platform by the end of this month. Simply put, ChatGPT has had much more traction than Bard.

ChatGPT uses the GPT-3 language model. Microsoft has trained it using large blocks of human-created text and content on the internet. ChatGPT uses this language model to generate responses to user queries.

Google's Bard relies on the search giant's Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA). Google claims Bard will offer more details to questions asked than the typical Google search using this language model.

Bing ChatGPT Answers Vs Google Bard Answers: Which Is Better Or More Accurate?

There's no doubt that Microsoft has struck first and hit hard with its ChatGPT. Google, on the other hand, appears to have responded to Microsoft's solution in haste and fumbled in the process. Nonetheless, it is too early to predict which Generative AI model will succeed, be more accurate, or have better adoption.

Currently, ChatGPT seems to be offering simple-to-understand answers while also including sources for the generated summary. However, it is important to note that any Generative AI platform is only as accurate, relevant, and useful as the data it assimilates and processes.

Microsoft's ChatGPT may seem ahead of Google's Bard for now, but Google Search has been the undisputed leader for quite some time now. Google has way more data as its search platform reportedly processes over 99,000 searches every single second. Hence, it would be best to wait and let the two platforms mature.
