Sony-Box Partnership Renewed Until 2013 to Offer 50GB Free Cloud Storage for Life
Sony has decided to resume its partnership with Box until the end of 2013 enabling Xperia users to continue to available free 50GB cloud storage space. The previous agreement between the two companies was to expire on December 31, 2012. After discussion between the two companies, it has been decided to extend it by one more year. Sony and Box had entered into the agreement back in 2011 for a period of one year. The first agreement with Box was announced before the 2011 holiday season.
Under the new agreement, users of Sony tablets and Xperia smartphones can continue to avail free 50 GB cloud storage for life on accessing their Box accounts or creating new ones, on or before 31st of December, 2013.
The free 50GB cloud storage space can be accessed only from Sony Xperia smartphones like Sony Xperia X10 and those released afterwards. However, the agreement does not cover Sony Xperia X10 mini, mini pro and the Xperia smartphones with Android versions before 2.1.
Sony has said that it would engage in further discussions with Box about the service and would soon reveal what are the expectations from the service to be delivered during the year.
This is a pretty good opportunity for the owners of fairly recently-bought Xperia smartphones to get this amazing promotion.
Box is a cloud content management and online file sharing service which allows you to store, share as well as access images, apps, videos, documents and any other files right from any of connected devices you own, such as computer, smartphones etc., anywhere and anytime.
