Jio revises Rs. 153 prepaid plan for JioPhone to give 1GB data per day

Back in July 2017, the telecom operator Reliance Jio announced the JioPhone, the smart feature phone with 4G VoLTE support. The company also announced a Rs. 153 prepaid plan for the users of this feature phone. It was mandatory for the users of the handset to make this recharge every month for three years to get the entire security deposit of Rs. 1,500 refunded on returning the device after three years.

At the time of launching the JioPhone, the Rs. 153 plan was offering 500MB 4G data per day along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSes per day. It also provided unlimited access and a free subscription to all the Jio apps those are preloaded with the JioPhone. Now, the operator has revised the Rs. 153 prepaid plan for JioPhone.

Going by the same, the Rs. 153 plan will offer 1GB 4G data per day and unlimited voice calls, be it local, STD or roaming, 100 SMSes per day and free Jio apps subscription to the JioPhone users. The validity of the plan is not changed and remains to be 28 days as before. The revision of the Rs. 153 plan for JioPhone comes right after the announcement of the cashback for Jio Prime users on recharges above Rs. 398.

Two sachet packs are available

Along with the JioPhone's Rs. 153 plan, the company has also come up with two sachet packs for the users of the handset. One is the Rs. 24 plan that offers 500MB 4G data per day, 20 SMSes, unlimited voice calling, and access to Jio apps for two days. The other one of the Rs. 54 pack that offers similar data, voice call and app access benefits and 70 SMSes with a validity of seven days. Both the sachet packs and the new Rs. 153 plan will provide high-speed data till the daily FUP is met. Beyond the FUP, the speed of data will drop to 64 kbps.

High data consumption of JioPhone users

The revised Rs. 153 plan for the JioPhone offers similar benefits as the Rs. 149 plan available for 4G smartphones.
