Airtel Partners With Blinkit For Rapid 10-Minute SIM Card Delivery Across 16 Cities
If you’ve ever dreaded the trip to a mobile store just to get a new SIM, Airtel has a workaround. The telecom company has teamed up with Blinkit to deliver SIM cards to your doorstep in just 10 minutes.
For now, this ultra-fast service is live in 16 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata.

A New Approach to Telecom Onboarding
The premise is simple: users can order a new SIM—be it prepaid, postpaid, or through mobile number portability (MNP)—and have it delivered within minutes. Blinkit, known for its ultra-fast grocery and essentials delivery model, now extends its logistics to telecom with this offering. For a convenience fee of ₹49, customers receive the SIM at their doorstep without needing to visit a store.
SIM activation is completed using Aadhaar-based eKYC, a process that remains mandatory under telecom regulations. To guide new users through setup, Airtel provides an online activation link and a short instructional video.
Cities Covered in the First Phase
As of now, the 10-minute delivery service is operational in:
Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.
Airtel has indicated that more cities will be added over time.
Support and Activation Requirements
Once delivered, the SIM card must be activated within 15 days. New users can reach out to a dedicated helpline, while existing customers can access support via the Airtel Thanks app. This initiative is positioned as part of Airtel’s broader digital-first strategy, streamlining the traditionally offline SIM acquisition process.
A Shift in How SIMs Are Bought
This is the first time an Indian telco has offered something this quick for SIM delivery. Blinkit, known for delivering groceries and essentials at lightning speed, now adds telecom to its growing list of services. It’s a small but clear signal of how even the most traditional services are being reshaped by the speed expectations of online-first consumers.
