Airtel Faces Nationwide Service Disruption Affecting Mobile And Broadband Users In India

A significant service disruption affected Airtel users across India on Thursday. Numerous customers reported issues with both mobile and broadband services on social media platforms. According to Downdetector, the majority of complaints emerged around 11 a.m., with 46% of users experiencing a "total blackout," 32% reporting "no signal," and 22% facing mobile connection problems. This data was recorded by noon.

Despite the widespread outage, Airtel has not yet issued an official statement addressing the issue. The disruption has led to considerable frustration among its customers. Earlier in the day, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) also faced a significant service outage.

As complaints surged on social media, Airtel India assured users that the issue would be resolved by 2:20 p.m. The company stated, "We are sorry for the hassle you had to face. We value our customer's feedback to improve our services. We will make sure that the incident will not be repeated. There's an outage in your area which will be resolved by 2:22:06 PM today. Thank you, Ajay S."

Airtel Cares also responded to user concerns, stating, "Don't worry, we're here to fix it! Please DM us your Airtel details, so we can smooth things out for you. Thanks, Simran B." Additionally, Airtel's social media team addressed other complaints by informing users about a temporary connectivity problem and assuring them that services would resume within two hours.

Users took to social media to express their frustrations over the outage. One user from Gujarat wrote, "Airtel Broadband & Mobile Services All Are Down, No Network on Mobile & Broadband 😐😐😐😐 Everything is gone in Gujarat Right Now..!" Another user commented on a global scale of the outage.

In Ahmedabad, users reported a complete network blackout. A concerned customer asked for an estimated resolution time for mobile broadband services in Ahmedabad. Another user criticised Airtel's automated responses and urged them to address the widespread issue affecting Ahmedabad.

One individual shared their experience on X: "Airtel_Presence network down in pincode 380006? Not able to use WiFi; even mobile network is not there. Using hotspot to tweet." Such posts highlight the inconvenience faced by many during this outage.

The incident underscores the importance of reliable connectivity for consumers who rely heavily on these services for daily activities. As companies like Airtel work towards resolving such issues promptly, maintaining transparent communication with customers remains crucial.
