Airtel Rs. 499 and Jio Rs. 509 postpaid plan comparison: Which is best and offers more value?
If you are subscribed to both the networks, then you can take a look at the comparison of the Airtel Rs. 499 and Jio Rs. 509 plans to choose which one would suit you the best.
In an attempt to take on Jio, many network carriers in India are now coming up with new prepaid tariff plans almost every other day. At the same time, the companies are also looking to narrow the gap between prepaid and postpaid connections. Airtel has launched new plan of Rs. 499 for its postpaid customers in India.
This plan is akin to Reliance Jio's Rs. 509 postpaid plan, which offers similar benefits. Now the question is which one is the best offer among these two? If you are subscribed to both the networks (it is a common scenario), then you can take a look at the comparison of the Airtel Rs. 499 and Jio Rs. 509 plans to choose which one would suit you the best.
Airtel's Rs. 499 plan
Airtel's new Rs. 499 postpaid plan offers unlimited local, STD, and incoming/ outgoing roaming calls. Additionally, customers are entitled to get 40GB of 3G/ 4G data (with rollover facility), and 1-year subscription of Amazon Prime. There's more, the plan also provides Wynk TV subscription, access to its library of Live TV and Movies, and Handset Damage Protection.
The validity of this plan is one billing cycle, which is usually of 30 days.
Jio's Rs. 509 plan
Talking about Jio's Rs. 509 plan, it offers a total of 60GB data with a daily cap of 2GB data. The plan also provides unlimited SMS benefits and access to Jio's suite of apps. However, this postpaid plan from Reliance Jio has some terms and conditions.
Airtel's Rs. 499 plan vs Jio's Rs. 509 plan
So now we come to the question which plan is better? Well, if we compare, Reliance Jio's Rs. 509 plan gives around 50 percent more data. However, customers are required to pay a security deposit of Rs. 600 to avail Jio's plan. And, there is a limit on daily data usage, which can be frustrating for some users.
The Airtel's Rs. 499 plan, on the other hand, has no such requirements. So if you don't need a lot of data, you probably should stick to the Rs. 499 plan from Airtel. Alternatively, you can try out Airtel's Rs. 799 plan which offers similar benefits to the Jio plan, but it doesn't have any daily cap on data usage.
