Bharti Airtel Collaborates With Indian Army To Improve Mobile Connectivity In North Kashmir

Bharti Airtel has joined forces with the Indian Army to enhance mobile network coverage in remote villages near the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir. This collaboration focuses on the Kupwara, Baramulla, and Bandipore districts. The initiative is part of the PM Vibrant Village Programme, which aims to connect isolated communities and reduce the digital divide.

Airtel has installed 15 mobile towers in these areas, providing essential communication services. This development benefits both local residents and Indian Army personnel stationed along the LoC. The newly connected villages include Kachhal, Balbir, Razdan Pass, Taya Top, Ustad, Kathi, and Cheema. These villages are situated in regions such as Keran, Machhal, Tangdhar, Gurez, and Uri valley.

Enhancing Connectivity for Soldiers

The provision of communication services by Airtel empowers soldiers to maintain contact with their families and improves operational coordination. This connectivity is crucial for both personal and professional purposes. Airtel stands as the only private telecom operator offering services in these remote locations.

The company's commitment to improving network services in challenging terrains is well-established. Airtel has a history of successful collaborations with the Indian Army to enhance connectivity in difficult areas. Notable achievements include establishing network coverage in the Galwan River region and Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO), which is India's northernmost military outpost.

Commitment to Bridging Digital Divide

This partnership between Bharti Airtel and the Indian Army highlights a significant step towards bridging the digital divide in remote regions of North Kashmir. By extending mobile network coverage to these isolated communities, Airtel plays a vital role in connecting people who were previously cut off from essential communication services.

The initiative not only benefits local populations but also supports military operations by ensuring seamless communication for soldiers stationed at strategic locations along the LoC. This collaboration underscores Airtel's dedication to enhancing connectivity even in the most challenging environments.
