BSNL to Discontinue These Popular Prepaid Plans on February 10—Recharge Before They’re Gone
BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is set to phase out three of its prepaid plans soon. According to InformalNewz, the ₹201, ₹797, and ₹2999 plans will no longer be available starting February 10, 2025.
If you're currently using one of these plans or were planning to recharge, now might be the best time to do so before they disappear.

BSNL ₹2999 Plan: A Year of Data and Calls
One of the most feature-rich options, BSNL's ₹2999 prepaid plan, comes with 3GB of daily data for an entire year, adding up to 1,095GB in total. The plan also includes unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls, along with 100 SMS per day.
Even after you hit the daily 3GB limit, you can still stay connected, though at a reduced speed of 40Kbps.
₹797 Plan: Short-Term Benefits, Long-Term Validity
The ₹797 plan is another solid choice but with a different structure. It offers 2GB of data per day for the first 60 days. Once that period ends, data usage is still unlimited, but speeds drop to 40Kbps for the remaining 240 days.
For the first two months, users also get unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. The biggest advantage? The plan keeps your SIM active for 300 days, making it useful for those who need extended validity without frequent recharges.
₹201 Plan: A Simple Plan to Keep Your SIM Active
If you're looking for a low-cost plan to keep your BSNL number active, the ₹201 plan fits the bill. It lasts 90 days and includes 6GB of data in total, along with 300 minutes of calls. This plan is ideal for those who don't need daily data but want to maintain their SIM without frequent top-ups.
What's Next for BSNL Users?
With these plans being phased out, existing users should consider recharging before the deadline to continue enjoying the benefits. Meanwhile, BSNL has been expanding its 4G services in several regions, and there's a possibility that new plans could be introduced soon.
For now, if you rely on these prepaid options for long-term data and calls, February 10 is the last day to get them.
