BSNL Reduces Validity for This Prepaid Plan: Check the Details Here

BSNL has reduced the validity of its Rs 88 prepaid plan. Previously, this plan offered 35 days of validity, but now it has been reduced to just 30 days. Despite the change in validity, the plan still provides the same benefits to its users.

Users are charged 10 paise per minute for on-net calls and 30 paise per minute for off-net calls. There are no data benefits included with this plan. The Rs 88 prepaid plan is available across all telecom circles in the country.

This prepaid plan is ideal for users who make frequent calls. However, with the validity reduced, users may need to recharge monthly and a few might find this change less appealing, especially those who prefer longer-validity plans.

Besides BSNL, Vodafone Idea (Vi) offers a similar plan priced at Rs 99 but offers only 15 days of validity, reduced from the original 28 days of validity. However, this Vi plan bundles an additional 200 MB of data.

Overall, the changes in validity and benefits reflect an industry trend where telecom operators adjust their plans to maintain competitiveness while managing operational costs and network upgrades.

BSNL has implemented this change to align with its competitive strategy in the market. By offering shorter validity, the company aims to encourage more frequent recharges, potentially increasing its revenue.

However, the telecom operator also increased the validity of its Rs 699 and Rs 999 prepaid plans. The Rs 699 BSNL plan, which earlier provided 130 days of validity, now offers 150 days. This pack includes 0.5GB of daily data, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMS per day for the entire validity. Additionally, customers can enjoy a free personalised ringback tone (PRBT) for the first 60 days.

On the other hand, the Rs 999 BSNL plan now offers 215 days of validity, up from the original 200 days. It includes unlimited voice calling and 60 days of free personalised ringback tone (PRBT). However, there are no data or SMS benefits with this pack.
