BSNL Launches Special Offer on Fiber Basic Plans: ₹399 with Free First Month

BSNL is making a push to attract budget broadband users in India with a new promotional offer on its Bharat Fiber service. The state-owned telecom operator is shaving costs on two of its entry-level plans and even throwing in a free month of service to get more households connected.

What the Offer Looks Like

The deal covers two of BSNL’s lower-tier fiber plans:

• Fiber Basic (₹499): Offers up to 60Mbps speeds, unlimited downloads, and unlimited local and STD calling. There’s a 3,300GB fair usage cap, after which speeds fall back to 4Mbps. As part of the offer, the plan gets a ₹100 discount for three months, cutting the price to ₹399 per month.
• Fiber Basic Neo (₹449): A slightly pared-down option with up to 50Mbps speeds and the same call and data benefits. This plan gets a ₹50 discount for three months, also bringing it down to ₹399 per month.

On top of that, BSNL is making the first month free. That essentially stretches the savings across four months for anyone who signs up now.

Availability and Deadline

According to TelecomTalk, the promotion is valid until September 30, 2025. But there’s a catch—availability may depend on which telecom circle you’re in. Customers will need to confirm eligibility on BSNL’s website or the Self Care app, which is available on both Android and iOS.

Why BSNL Is Doing This

Competition in the broadband market has been heating up. With JioFiber and Airtel Xstream constantly revising their plans, BSNL has to find ways to stay relevant, especially at the entry level. While speeds on these plans aren’t breaking records, the combination of a free month and discounted pricing could be appealing for price-sensitive users or those who just need reliable internet for basic streaming and work-from-home needs.
