Is Reliance Jio limiting voice calls to 300 minutes per day? Apparently, yes!
Some users have received notification from Reliance Jio that their calls have been limited to 300 minutes per day.
We all know that when Reliance Jio was launched the company had promised that its services would include unlimited voice calls. While the company has been delivering what it promised, apparently Reliance Jio is now limiting voice calls to 300 minutes per day for users who are misusing the network.
According to Telecomtalk, some users have received notification from Jio that their calls have been limited to 300 minutes per day. The report also notes that this new limit of 300 minutes per day on voice calls is true and is applicable to selected users.
Reliance Jio Priority team has confirmed the same with the publication and the team has explained that the company has taken such measures as some users were found to be mis-using the company's unlimited voice calls facility. These users were reportedly making almost 10 hours of calls daily, and some were even making promotional calls using the Jio network.
However, this is quite an interesting case as the reason for the limitation that the operator has given is not because of TRAI or other telcos opposing to Jio's business but it is because of the users themselves. And it is worth mentioning again that these users were potentially misusing the unlimited voice calling scheme.
Meanwhile, if you do not fall into the "mis-using" or "abusive" category then there is no need to worry as not all users are affected by this limit of 300 minutes on voice calls. Well, regular users should not be affected by this new FUP on voice calls on the Jio network.
There are some other things that need to be clarified and we will be keeping in touch with Reliance Jio. And as soon as we hear from them we will give you an update on the same.
