Jio Launches 5 New Prepaid Plans With Cloud Gaming Access via JioGames Cloud Starting at ₹48

As cloud gaming gains more attention globally, Reliance Jio is looking to tap into the trend in India with a new category of prepaid plans. The company has introduced five gaming-centric mobile recharge plans, some of which are designed to work as add-ons to an existing base plan, while others function as full prepaid packs.

What connects all of them is a bundled subscription to JioGames Cloud, Jio's own cloud gaming platform. These offerings aim to bring game streaming to smartphones, PCs, and even the company's set-top box-without requiring users to buy expensive hardware or download large files.

Game Streaming Without Downloads

JioGames Cloud works like other cloud gaming platforms: instead of downloading a game to your device, you stream it over the internet. The games run on Jio's cloud servers, and you interact with them in real time via your screen and controls.

The platform supports smartphones, personal computers, and Jio's Fiber set-top box. At the time of writing, it offers access to over 500 games and supports 1080p resolution streaming with unlimited gameplay. Jio currently charges ₹398 for a 28-day "Pro Pass," though this is listed as introductory pricing-future plans may raise the cost to ₹499.

Data-Only Add-On Vouchers

Three of the five new plans introduced by Jio are designed as add-on vouchers, which means they won't work on their own-you'll need an active base plan. These are clearly meant for users who want temporary access to JioGames Cloud or are simply exploring the platform.

• ₹48 Plan: Comes with 10MB of high-speed data and 3-day access to JioGames Cloud

• ₹98 Plan: Offers the same benefits as above, but extends the validity to 7 days

• ₹298 Plan: Includes 3GB of data and 28 days of cloud gaming access

These plans don't include voice or SMS benefits. Once the included data is consumed, the connection speed drops to 64kbps.

Full Prepaid Plans With Gaming and Streaming Services

Jio has also introduced two more comprehensive plans that offer standard mobile benefits alongside gaming access and streaming subscriptions. These plans are active for 28 days and don't require a separate base pack.

• ₹495 Plan: Provides 1.5GB of daily high-speed data, 5GB bonus data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day. Also includes 28-day access to JioGames Cloud, JioTV, JioHotstar Mobile, FanCode, and 50GB of Jio AICloud storage.

• ₹545 Plan: Offers 2GB of daily high-speed data along with the same benefits as the ₹495 plan. This one also includes access to Jio's unlimited 5G data, assuming network availability.

Both of these plans appear to target users who not only want to try cloud gaming, but also want bundled access to other digital services without paying separately for each one.

Who Can Use These Plans?

The new gaming benefits are currently limited to prepaid users. Jio hasn't made them available for postpaid customers or JioFiber subscribers at this stage.
