The company is also providing another plan of Rs 346 with a validity of 56 days.
In a bid to counter Mukesh Ambani- owned Reliance Jio's revamped plan, India's second largest mobile operator Vodafone has launched a new plan of Rs 244 with benefits for 70 days.
Under the new plan, a user will get 1 GB of 3G or 4G data per day and unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone calls.
But there is a catch as this offer is only for newcustomers, existing customers cannot avail the same. Another catch with the offer is the validity of 70 days is available only for the first recharge. From the second recharge, the validity will fall to 35 days for the same amount.
The company is also providing another plan of Rs 346 with a validity of 56 days.
In this plan, customers will get to 56GB data with a cap of 1GB per day along with unlimited voice calls to any network. However, voice calls will be limited to 300 minutes per day and 1,200 minutes per week.
Meanwhile, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has finally approved the merger of Vodafone India with Idea Cellular.
Aditya Birla Group- led Idea Cellular also confirmed the same in a BSE filing.
"We welcome the decision of the Competition Commission of India approving the proposed merger of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular, following its comprehensive review of the transaction. It is expected that other statutory approvals will be forthcoming and we anticipate completing the transaction during 2018.
The proposed combination of Vodafone India and Idea will create a new champion of Digital India. We remain fully committed to fulfilling the Digital India vision of the Honourable Prime Minister and the government and will connect villages, towns, and cities across India with world class 4G/4G+ networks. The continuing ease of doing business in the country helps ensure that this vision for a digitally connected India is fast becoming a reality," both companies said.
