Reliance Jio has big plans to disrupt enterprise and home segment in 2018
Reiance Jio is all set to disrupt enterprise and home segment after disrupting the telecom sector.
Ever since Reliance Jio announced its entry into telecom space there have been a lot of rumors about its future plans and launches but nothing concrete has really come out. However, this time from what we have learned the company is all set to disrupt enterprise segment after disrupting telecom sector.
"I think the big thing for Jio is what we have done in the consumer business. It is very important for us to take that into the enterprise as well as home segment because we absolutely believe that India is once again deprived of where it needs to be from home as well as enterprise," Jio President Mathew Oommen told GizBot on the sidelines of India Digital Open Summit 2018.
Last week, Reliance Jio hosted the first ever India Digital Open Summit in partnership with Linux Foundation supported by Cisco Systems at its campus in Navi Mumbai where Akash Ambani, Director, Reliance Jio, said, "Jio is committed to improve the lives of billions of Indians in a positive way and to get these technologies to every customer out there. At Jio, we are committed to contribute and use open source technologies to deliver better consumer experience."
Aruna Sundararajan, Chairperson, Telecom Commission & Secretary (Telecom), Dept of Telecommunications said, "This open source networking summit really has a very ambitious agenda because it speaks about setting the roadmap for defining the future of an open source and open platform enabled digital India. It would also foster and support continuous innovation, security, and entrepreneurialism that will drive the creation of India's new generation digital platforms."
Meanwhile, we also tried to find out company's plans for this year and as far as the details that were given, Jio is all set to come up with apps like Jio VR and Jio AR, Jio Money, Jio Health platform and Virtual classroom called Jio Schools.

" There are 1500 to 2000 schools across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat where Jio has already introduced this platform," sources close to the development told GizBot.
Another source said, "The company is also working on connected car platform i.e On Board Diagnostic Device." Adding that this device is on trial basis and is likely to come by the end of this financial year.
Lastly, the company is also gearing up to announce FTTH router, broadband, and Live TV, where the router is capable of connecting 40 devices at one time and will provide a speed of 1 Gbps. The Live TV will offer on-demand movies and music.
