Reliance Jio Revises Prepaid Plans, Omits JioCinema Benefit

Reliance Jio has recently made changes to its prepaid recharge options, notably omitting the JioCinema benefit that was previously included. This adjustment follows the debut of JioHotstar, a new streaming platform born from the merger of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. With this integration, users gain access to a broader spectrum of entertainment options, all housed under a single platform.

As a result, JioCinema is no longer listed as a feature of the recharge plans available through Reliance Jio. In the wake of removing JioCinema, Reliance Jio continues to provide JioTV and JioCloud at no extra cost across its range of prepaid plans. This change affects various recharge options, from the 28-day plan priced at Rs 249 to the annual plan costing Rs 3,599, none of which now feature JioCinema as an included benefit.

Despite this shift, Jio maintains its commitment to offering a rich selection of OTT content. Subscribers still have access to a variety of complimentary services alongside their prepaid plans, such as Amazon Prime Video, FanCode, JioSaavn Pro, Netflix, and a ZEE5-SonyLIV bundle. Additionally, certain plans come with the option to subscribe to JioHotstar's advertisement-supported version, ensuring users have ample entertainment choices.

The strategic move to integrate JioCinema with Disney+ Hotstar, resulting in the creation of JioHotstar, signifies Reliance Jio's ongoing efforts to streamline its digital content offerings. This fusion aims to enhance the streaming experience for users, providing them with a broader array of content under a single platform.

JioHotstar offers several subscription plans, with mobile plans starting at Rs 149 for three months or Rs 499 annually, providing HD streaming on one mobile device with ads. The Super Plan is priced at Rs 299 for three months or Rs 899 per year, allowing Full HD streaming on two devices with ads. The Premium Plan offers ad-free 4K streaming (except during live events) on up to four devices for Rs 299 monthly, Rs 499 quarterly, or Rs 1,499 annually.
