Vodafone Idea Expands Its 5G Services to Bihar and Punjab
Vodafone Idea has expanded its 5G services to the new cities, enhancing its network reach. The telecom provider now offers unlimited 5G in Punjab and Bihar. This expansion follows the initial launch in the Mumbai circle of Maharashtra, marking a significant step in Vodafone Idea's 5G rollout strategy.
The recent launch in Punjab and Bihar aligns with Vodafone Idea's announcement that 5G would be available in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Patna by April's end. With these launches complete, Bengaluru and Delhi are expected to follow within weeks. The company is also targeting specific areas within these cities for initial service availability.

Recent Announcements
In addition to city-wide rollouts, Vodafone Idea has introduced 5G in stadiums across 11 cities ahead of the 2025 IPL matches. These include M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Other stadiums like Wankhede in Mumbai and Eden Gardens in Kolkata are also part of this initiative.
Looking ahead, Vodafone Idea is likely to extend its 5G services to Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, and Hyderabad next. In Chennai, areas such as Perungudi and Nespakkam are anticipated to receive service first. The rollout will continue gradually across different parts of these cities.
The pricing for Vodafone Idea's 5G plans remains consistent across all launched circles. Starting at ₹299 for prepaid plans, customers can access unlimited 5G data. This pricing strategy mirrors the plans initially introduced in Mumbai.
As Vodafone Idea continues its phased rollout, customers can expect more areas to gain access to high-speed 5G connectivity soon. The company's strategic approach aims to enhance user experience while maintaining competitive pricing across all regions.
Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, leading telecom firms in India, introduced their 5G services two years ago. Their networks now cover over 95% of circles nationwide. Vodafone Idea, despite being the third-largest telecom company, faced delays due to financial constraints. However, they plan to fully deploy 5G services by 2025 and have outlined the first cities to receive these services by December 2024.
