Vodafone Idea Launches Two New Prepaid Plans With Free Netflix
Vodafone Idea (Vi) has joined forces with Netflix to offer new prepaid plans that bundle mobile data, voice calls, and access to the popular streaming platform. Here's a closer look at what these plans offer and how they compare to the competition.
New Vi Prepaid Plans with Netflix
Vi is introducing two new prepaid plans catering to different data needs. Both plans include a subscription to Netflix Basic, which allows users to stream content in HD quality on one device at a time. This means you can enjoy your favorite shows and movies on your smartphone, tablet, TV, or computer, depending on your preference.

- Rs 998 Plan: This plan offers a validity of 70 days (except for Mumbai and Gujarat where the price is Rs 1,099 for the same validity). It provides 1.5GB of daily data, 100 SMS messages per day, and unlimited voice calls. This plan is ideal for users who primarily stream on their mobile devices or occasionally watch on a larger screen.
- Rs 1,399 Plan: This plan offers a longer validity period of 84 days. Data allocation is increased to 2.5GB per day, alongside 100 SMS messages per day and unlimited voice calls. This plan caters to users who consume more data and might enjoy streaming on a larger screen more frequently.
Vi Claims Competitive Pricing
Vi highlights its Rs 998 plan as the most affordable option for bundled Netflix access under Rs 1,000 compared to competitors like Jio and Airtel.
Additional Benefits
Both new plans come with Vi's "Hero" benefits. While the exact details of these benefits haven't been officially disclosed, they might include features like Data Delight (additional data allocation), Night Binge (bonus data for nighttime streaming), and Weekend Data Rollover (unused data carried over to weekends).
Postpaid Plans with Netflix Coming Soon
While the initial focus is on prepaid customers, Vi has announced plans to introduce postpaid plans with bundled Netflix subscriptions in the near future. This could be a good option for users who prefer the flexibility and convenience of postpaid billing.
