Vodafone Idea’s ₹499 Postpaid Plan Now Includes a Free Swiggy One Subscription
Vodafone Idea (Vi) has introduced a new ₹499 postpaid plan that comes with a three-month free Swiggy One subscription, adding another perk to its offering as telecom companies look beyond just calls and data to attract users.
Swiggy One is a subscription service that typically costs ₹299 for three months or ₹899 annually. It includes free food and grocery deliveries on orders above ₹199, a 30% discount on select food orders, and 10% off on Swiggy Genie deliveries. Vi's new plan gives users access to these benefits at no extra cost.

What's in the Plan?
Aside from the Swiggy One subscription, the ₹499 plan includes 20GB of 4G data, valid for three months. However, this is a data-only pack, meaning users need an active base plan for calls and other services. It's more of an add-on rather than a full postpaid plan.
Airtel's Alternative: Insurance with Prepaid Plans
While Vi is focusing on food delivery perks, Airtel has taken a different approach by bundling accident insurance with some of its prepaid plans. The ₹239, ₹399, and ₹969 plans come with coverage from ICICI Lombard, offering:
- ₹1 lakh insurance for accidental death
- ₹25,000 for accident-related hospitalization
Telecom Companies Are Expanding Perks
With data and call prices largely similar across networks, operators are now looking at value-added services to stand out. Vodafone Idea is betting on food delivery perks, while Airtel is focusing on financial security.
These extra benefits may not be a deciding factor for everyone, but they do add more choices for users looking for something beyond just mobile connectivity.
