Vodafone Idea’s New Family Plan Add-On Lets You Add Up to 8 Members for ₹299 Each

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has introduced a new way to share your postpaid plan with the entire family, without having to jump to a more expensive tier. The telecom operator has rolled out an add-on option that lets existing Vi Max Family Postpaid plan users add up to eight additional members at ₹299 per person.

The move is aimed at customers who need to include more family members under one plan but don't want to upgrade to a higher bundle. With this update, Vi becomes one of the few Indian telecom operators offering a family plan with such scalability.

How the new add-on works

Until now, Vi's Family Postpaid plans supported between two and five members, depending on the plan tier. With the new add-on, users can attach extra connections on top of their existing structure, allowing up to seven new members on the ₹701 plan, for example.

Existing plans get more scalable

Vi's family postpaid offerings start at ₹701, which by default supports one primary and one secondary user. This base plan includes:

70GB data for the primary member

Unlimited night data (12 am - 6 am)

200GB rollover

OTT perks including Amazon Prime (6-month trial), JioCinema, SonyLIV, Zee5, and more

Travel, food, and cybersecurity benefits from EaseMyTrip, Swiggy One, Norton, and EazyDiner

With the new add-on, the same ₹701 plan can now accommodate up to nine total members (one primary + eight secondaries), making it more viable for joint families or even friend groups who prefer to pool postpaid resources.

Higher-tier plans, such as the ₹1,201 and ₹1,401 Vi Max Family plans, also benefit. These support more users by default and can now stretch up to nine total users as well, depending on the combination of base and add-on connections.
