Here are the key things that we get to know from the rumored report about the Apple Watch 2:

    Developed by Quanta

As per the Chinese report, Apple will continue to work with Quanta Computer, which developed the first Watch model and will most likely be developing the Apple Watch 2 as well. The chairman of Quanta, Barry Lam, has reportedly confirmed that the second-generation Watch is already under work, but he refused to give any other details related to hardware and other changes in the new Watch.

    More durable than earlier

The second model is expected to be almost similar to the current model, but with minor design differences. However, it is believed that Apple will use new materials in the new Watch to make it more durable.

    Finally, GPS will be added

The current Watch model lacks GPS module, which makes it dependent on the iPhone or other connected Apple device for tracking footsteps and other fitness regimes. However, the new report suggests that Apple is planning to add a GPS module on the next generation Watch, which will improve user-experience and make the Watch a much more powerful fitness device. Moreover, this will help it monitor fitness activities without the need for an iPhone.

    New Features and Improvements

Speaking of the specifications of the new Watch, people close to the matter say that Apple is figuring out ways to add some new features and improvements to the Watch, however nothing is confirmed and there still are not any details available for the same.

    Expected release Time

The report also mentions that the Watch 2 will be released in the second quarter of the next year, most likely by June. If the report is to be believed, it seems like Apple is working hard on bring new model to the market at the earliest. The first Watch was announced in September 2014, but launched after 7 months and hit shelves in India earlier this month. This time however Apple might reduce the time gap between the unveiling and launch of the Watch 2 to make it readily available.
