Pebble still has 23 more days to go until its crowdfunding project ends. Surpassing the target of $1 million and collecting almost 10 times the amount, the company has definitely got many of the backers to invest in Core. The fitness companion device is really unique in itself just for its design and functionality.
We take a look at 7 of the most amazing features of Pebble's Core.
The Pebble Core is just compact enough to carry in your pocket or even hang it on your keychain. And every step you take is recorded just like a smartwatch does.
Speed and distance
With a built-in GPS tracker in Core, your speed, distance covered and the pace of your run are all recorded. Pairing it up with your smartphone can allow you to see every detail through the Pebble Health app.
The Pebble Core is compatible with both the Pebble 2 and Time 2 smartwatches that are soon to go into production. It also can work with most iOS and Android devices too if you don't have other Pebble devices.
Work to the beat
With 4 GB of onboard memory, the Pebble Core can hold your favorite tunes while you're on running track. And with Spotify, you can take your playlists offline to the device and still listen to the songs.
Cables or wireless
So how would you listen to songs? The Core has a 3.5mm jack for you to plug-in your own set of earphones. Also with the Bluetooth available on it, you can pair it with your wireless headset too.
The Core has only a two buttons on its face and the functionality of these are entirely up to you. You can call an UBER, or you can open your garage doors, lock/unlock car door etc. The possibilities are limitless.
One of the cool feature on the Pebble Core is to assign one of the buttons to alert your dear ones that you are in trouble. It sends out an SOS notification to the contact you assign.
