The minimalistic, curved design also offers customization options for users to personalize their smartwatch. Plus, Google has used all recycled materials for the new smartwatch.

The Google Pixel Watch flaunts a 1.4-inch circular OLED display, which makes it identical to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. Under the hood, the smartwatch is powered by the Samsung Exynos 9110 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space.

More importantly, the Google Pixel Watch offers a 300 mAh battery, which the brand claims to last 24 hours on a single charge. This might make the battery life a tad bit better than competitors. But that said, the newly launched Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch Ultra claim to have improved battery performance.

This brings us to the comparison between the flagships: the newly launched Google Pixel Watch and the Apple Watch 8 series. A report from Bloomberg quotes mobile industry analyst Carolina Milanesi who says, "The Watch and the Pixel offer the best Apple-like multi-device ecosystem with a pure Google services experience."

While many Chinese brands like Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi have their ecosystems based on Android, they're mostly limited to Asian markets like China and India.

The US and European markets are mostly dominated by Apple, Samsung, and now Google Pixel devices. While the new Google Pixel Watch still lacks in many aspects, it's still the first-generation wearable from the brand. It's safe to assume that the competition between Apple and Google will surge in the coming generations. For now, the Apple Watch seems irreplaceable.
