Meta Quest+ Subscription Launched: Check Prices, Features, Benefits, Availability, And Joining Bonus

Meta Platforms launched Meta Quest+, a subscription-based service for its virtual reality (VR) headsets. The subscription will be available in multiple markets simultaneously and will be valid for Quest 2, Quest Pro, and soon for Quest 3.

Available via the Meta Quest app, the Meta Quest+ subscription service will offer access to curated games, starting with the action-rhythm game FPS Pistol Whip, and the arcade adventure game Pixel Ripped 1995.

What Is Meta Quest+ Subscription Service, Its Cost, Benefits

Meta Quest+ is the first-ever subscription service dedicated to Virtual Reality headsets. It is locked to the Meta Quest headsets, including the Quest 2 and the Quest Pro.

The Quest 3 headset will be automatically eligible but not other Augmented Reality or Mixed Reality headsets from other companies. Specifically speaking Meta is keeping Apple away and creating a walled garden that will keep out the Apple Vision Pro.

Meta's subscription service will also help it differentiate from Sony PlayStation, which notably doesn't offer VR games through its PlayStation Plus subscription. Justifying the subscription service, Meta issued a statement, which reads:

"Subscription services have been a great way to get more bang for your buck as far back as the Blockbuster days. "And at a monthly value of up to $60 USD, Meta Quest+ combines affordability with the convenience of a curated experience. We're excited to give gamers on Meta Quest a new way to explore all their headsets have to offer."

Incidentally, the Meta Quest+ subscription service will be available starting this week at $7.99 (approx. ₹655) per month, or $59.99 (approx. ₹4,920) annually. Meta is offering a limited-time deal of providing the first month at just $1 (₹82) for those who sign up before July 31. The offer is only valid for new subscribers.

The Meta Quest+ subscription service will offer users access to two hand-picked VR titles every month. Users get to keep and play all the VR game titles as long as they remain subscribed to Meta Quest+.

Which Games Will Meta Offer To Meta Quest+ Subscribers?

As mentioned above, the first two games Meta will offer to Meta Quest+ subscribers include the action-rhythm game FPS Pistol Whip, and the arcade adventure game Pixel Ripped 1995.

The company has confirmed that more games will soon be coming to the VR headset via the Metra Quest+ subscription. Some of the notable game titles subscribers can expect, include Stranger Things VR, Assassin's Creed, and Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord.

Meta is reacting swiftly to Apple Vision Pro and Apple's strategies to create a big splash in the world of AR/VR. The company's flagship VR headset Meta Quest Pro is currently priced at $999.99 (approx. ₹82,000). Back when it launched, the headset commanded a price of $1,499.99 (approx. ₹1,23,000). The Quest 2 is being sold for $299.99 (approx. ₹24,600).

Apple Vision Pro isn't yet available. However, it is priced at $3500, which is way higher than any of the headsets that Meta is offering. However, Apple is finetuning the services as well as the hardware. Disney+ has already confirmed that its content will be available from launch day.
