Samsung is planning to launch its latest Gear S3 smartwatches in India in the first quarter of 2017. As per a report by Sammobile, the South Korean giant will be launching both the Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches- Gear S3 Frontier and S3 Classic, somewhere around January 2017. The Gear S3 smartwatches was first launched in IFA 2016 in September 2016.
There's no clarification on the date of the launch and the pricing of the smartwatches for the Indian market, but we expect Samsung to give some details by the 2016 end.

Two Models- Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic
The Gear S3 Frontier offers a rugged outdoor look, while the Gear S3 Classic comes with a more professional and refined appearance. However both the smartwatches look quite appealing. Moreover, the Gear S3 Frontier also features a cellular radio chip that allows the smartwatch to connect to 4G mobile networks. This allows you to make calls and connect to internet without tethering it to your smartphone.
The Gear S3 Frontier has a rubberized strap with a large dial, whereas Gear S3 Classic comes with a leather strap and has a smaller dial as compared to Gear S3 Frontier.
The Gear S3 smartwatches are powered by Exynos 7270, 1 GHz dual-core processor and has 768MB RAM. The smartwatches have 4GB of internal memory.
Both the smartwatches have 1.3-inch circular AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels (278ppi). Samsung is offering its Always-on display feature and the displays are also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Besides, the smartwatches also have an inbuilt speaker.
The smartwatches are backed by a 3,80mAh (3~4 days).

Inbuilt GPS and a slew of Sensors
The Gear S3 smartwatches have built-in GPS that tracks your physical activity such as running, cycling, etc. without a smartphone.
The smartwatches also have Accelerometer, Gyro, Barometer,HRM and Ambient light sensor. Besides, Gear S3 also supports wireless charging and come with a wireless charging dock.
Water and Dust Resistant
Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches are IP68 certified and can withstand dust, water and dirt. The smartwatches are water resistant up to 30 minutes underwater. However, Samsung hasn't promoted the Gear S3 smartwatches for swimming or diving.
