Garmin Forerunner 230, Forerunner 235 Smartwatches launched in India starting at Rs 22,990
Garmin, one of the most popular Swiss Wearable manufacturer has launched two new smartwatches, the Forerunner 230 and the Forerunner 235 in India. Garmin has entered into a partnership with Flipkart as the watches will be available exclusively via e-commerce store at Rs 22,990 and Rs 27,490 respectively.
The USP of the Forerunner wearables lies in the GPS and GLONASS feature of the smartwatch, which will allow you to view maps on the display of the smartwatch. Both the Garmin Forerunner 230 and Forerunner 235 are waterproof and shock resistant upto 50 metres.
As expected the Forerunner smartwatches can track various activity parameters including running and sleep duration, calories burned, distance covered etc. Garmin claims that their wearable care compatible with both Android, iOS and Windows 10 Mobile devices when connective via Bluetooth.
The main difference with the Garmin Forerunner 230 and Forerunner 235 lies in the presence of a larger display and a Heart Rate sensor in the later. Besides that the Forerunner 235 can also display VO2 Max reading. Besides that both the smartwatches feature an Accelerometer sensor.
As mentioned above the Garmin Forerunner 235 features a 1.23" display with a resolution of 215x180 as compared to the 1 inch display on the Forerunner 230. In terms of battery though the Garmin Forerunner 230 has an edge thanks to the smaller display, as it can deliver upto 16 hours in Training mode and 5 weeks in Watch Mode. This is markedly lower as compared to the 11 hours of Training mode battery life of the Garmin Forerunner 230.
The Garmin Forerunner 235 is available in three colours namely Black, Orange and Grey as compared to the two colour variants - Black and Yellow - of the Forerunner 230.
