The major highlight of Google Android Wear 2.8 is the change in UI which is now darker as compared to its older grey version.
Google has recently announced the update for Android smart wearables. The latest Android 2.8 update is claimed to have majorly improved watches' display performance. Unlike its previous grey display background, the Android wear 2.8 now features a darker background display. This latest upgrade Android 2.8 should make reading on the smart watch much easier as compared to its predecessor.

Google is rolling out the Android Wear update for all the compatible devices including the latest Pixel series. However as per some reports Android Wear 2.8 has not changed much in terms of features. The major highlight however is the change in UI which as mentioned above is now darker as compared to its older grey version.
The latest Android 2.8 update for the smart watch is available on smartphones and users can upgrade the smart watch as soon as the upgrade is available on their devices. Your smart wearable will receive the notification for the upgrade or you can simply open settings and check for new update. The upgrade will be available after a few days on the devices; however it is not confirmed when or how soon it will be. Google has not yet confirmed what all extra features the new update will bring to its smart watch, Android wear.
Google designed smart watches and other wearables which are powered by Google's own Android operating system. The Google Android wearables also feature Google Assistant so the users can operate it even with their voice commands and apps can be downloaded from Google Play store. The Google Android wearables are supported with android version 4.3 or above and iOS version 8.2 or above. In terms of connectivity they support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3g and LTE connectivity.

When it comes to the features Google wearables can find directions by giving voice commands and also choose mode of transport. The watch vibrates to indicate the turns and also shows direction on the display.
Android wear also supports ride and run tracking along with Google Fit and a user just needs to give a voice command like "Ok Google , start a run" to track their activities.
