Affordable Apple Vision Pro Variant Being Developed; Release Planned In 2025 Suggests New Report
Apple announced the Apple Vision Pro, a revolutionary new Mixed Reality headset last week. Even before the AR/VR headset is officially available for purchase, a new report claims Apple is deep in the development of its successor, and it will sport a more affordable price tag.
At $3499 (approx. ₹2,90,000), the Apple Vision Pro is one of the most expensive products in the consumer electronics segment. Even Apple appears to be acutely aware of the same, and hence, is planning to launch a cheaper iteration, with some strategic compromises.

Apple Vision One Would Be More Affordable Than Vision Pro But Launch In 2025
Apple unveiled the Apple Vision Pro last week at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference. The AR/VR spatial computer isn't immediately available for purchase but Apple has already announced it will be priced at $3499.
Even with all the cutting-edge and revolutionary technology, it is impossible to ignore the eye-watering price, especially when there are much more affordable Mixed Reality headsets. Even Meta announced the Quest 3, which is expected to cost way less than the Vision Pro. Incidentally, Meta recently dropped the price of the Quest 2 VRE headset to $300.
A new report suggests Apple is also said to be working on a more affordable version of the Apple Vision Pro headset. The "Pro" in the name could have been a clue to a standard iteration, presumably called the Apple Vision.
Apple might call the cheaper variant Apple Vision One. The cheaper version of the headset is expected to be "several hundred dollars" lower than the first-generation headset.
Needless to add even with such a reduction in price, the as-yet-unannounced Mixed Reality AR/VR spatial computer from Apple will be a lot more expensive than its competitors, especially in the consumer electronics segment.
What Compromises Will The Mystery Cheaper Apple Vision One Have To Reduce Price?
Apple hasn't yet revealed the complete hardware specifications of the first-generation Vision Pro headset. Moreover, the company hasn't even acknowledged that it is working on new hardware in the space.
Apple is expected to make some strategic compromises to ensure buyers get a similar experience as the Vision Pro. However, the Apple Vision One may feature a more basic design for the headband and use a cheaper frame. Apple may drop the 3D camera system but further optimize the production and assembly setup to lower costs.
