Apple Watch Celebrates Ten Years Of Activity Rings With Global Close Your Rings Day Campaign
Apple Watch's Activity Rings feature, which encourages users to stay active by tracking Move, Exercise, and Stand, has reached its 10-year milestone. To commemorate this, Apple has launched the 'Global Close Your Rings Day' campaign on April 24. On this day, users are encouraged to close their Activity Rings and share their achievements using #CloseYourRings.
Participants who successfully close all three Activity Rings will receive a limited-edition award. Additionally, they will earn 10 animated stickers and an animated badge for Messages. This initiative aims to motivate users to engage more with their fitness goals.

Exclusive Rewards and Special Pins
As part of the celebration, Apple is offering a special pin inspired by the award. Customers can collect these pins at Apple Store locations worldwide starting April 24, while supplies last. This adds an extra layer of excitement for participants eager to showcase their achievements.
The significance of closing Activity Rings is further highlighted by a recent study conducted by Apple in collaboration with Brigham and Women's Hospital and the American Heart Association. The study involved 140,000 participants and revealed intriguing insights into health benefits associated with frequently closing the rings.
Health Benefits Highlighted by Study
The study found that individuals who regularly closed their Activity Rings were 48% less likely to experience poor sleep quality. They were also 73% less likely to have elevated resting heart rate levels, which is an important indicator of fitness and heart health.

Moreover, these individuals were 57% less likely to report high stress levels as measured by the Perceived Stress Scale-4 (PSS-4). These findings underscore the positive impact of maintaining an active lifestyle through consistent engagement with the Activity Rings feature.
Impact on Fitness and Health
Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer, commented on the transformative effect of the Apple Watch on people's approach to fitness and health monitoring. "Apple Watch has changed the way people think about, monitor, and engage with their fitness and health," he stated.
"A decade ago, we introduced Activity rings — and since then, Apple Watch has grown to offer an extensive set of features designed to empower every user," Williams added. He noted that users frequently share stories about how the watch has motivated them to be more active throughout the day.
The introduction of Activity Rings has not only encouraged physical activity but also positively influenced users' overall well-being. By providing a simple yet effective way to track daily activities, it has become an integral part of many users' lives over the past decade.
