Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 Launched in India With Heart Rate Monitoring, Adaptive EQ, Apple H2 Chip, and More

Beats has introduced the Powerbeats Pro 2, its latest fitness-focused earphones designed for athletes and active users. The second-generation model brings significant upgrades, including heart rate monitoring, active noise cancellation (ANC), a redesigned fit, and extended battery life.

With a strong focus on workout performance, Powerbeats Pro 2 aims to enhance both audio quality and comfort for fitness enthusiasts.

Upgraded Sound with Spatial Audio

One of the key enhancements in Powerbeats Pro 2 is its reengineered acoustic architecture, delivering clearer highs, richer mids, and deeper bass. The earbuds also feature Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, creating an immersive listening experience.

For users who train in different environments, Beats has integrated Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to block out distractions, while Transparency mode lets them stay aware of their surroundings when needed. The Adaptive EQ further enhances sound by dynamically adjusting audio based on how the earbuds fit in the user's ears.

Enhanced Fit and Comfort

Beats has focused heavily on improving the fit of Powerbeats Pro 2. The new redesigned earhook, reinforced with a nickel titanium alloy, provides better flexibility and grip. This makes the earbuds 20% lighter than the previous model, improving comfort during long training sessions.

To further personalize the fit, Beats has added a fifth ear tip size, now offering options from extra-small to extra-large. The earbuds are also rated IPX4 for sweat and water resistance, ensuring durability across different workout conditions, including rain and intense training sessions.

Heart Rate Monitoring for Workouts

For the first time, heart rate monitoring is built directly into Powerbeats Pro 2. Using LED optical sensors that measure blood flow, the earbuds provide real-time heart rate data, which can be tracked through compatible fitness apps. At launch, Powerbeats Pro 2 supports apps like Runna, Nike Run Club, Open, Ladder, Slopes, and YaoYao in India.

This feature gives athletes a convenient way to monitor their performance without needing additional wearables, making Powerbeats Pro 2 a compelling option for fitness tracking.

Smarter Connectivity and Controls

The Powerbeats Pro 2 offers seamless integration with Apple devices, thanks to the Apple H2 chip. Features like one-touch pairing, automatic switching between devices, Audio Sharing, hands-free Siri, and Find My support are included. For Android users, the Beats app provides similar functions, including the ability to activate or disable heart rate monitoring, customize controls, check battery status, and receive firmware updates.

On-device controls include tactile volume rockers on each earbud, allowing users to adjust the volume without reaching for their phone. The earbuds also feature an improved voice accelerometer and three advanced microphones, which work together to reduce background noise and enhance call clarity with Voice Isolation technology.

Extended Battery Life and Wireless Charging

Battery performance is another major highlight. Powerbeats Pro 2 delivers up to 10 hours of playback per earbud, with the charging case extending total battery life to 45 hours. The case itself is now 33% smaller and, for the first time, supports Qi wireless charging. Additionally, Fast Fuel charging provides 90 minutes of playback with just a 5-minute charge.

Pricing and Availability

Powerbeats Pro 2 is available in four color options: Jet Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple, and Electric Orange. The earbuds are priced at ₹29,900 and are available for order through apple's official site, with in-store availability starting February 13.
