Boat Smart Ring Announced With Touch Controls, Health and Fitness Tracking

Homegrown wearable brand which is also the largest in India is set to disrupt the wearables market by shrinking the form factor down to a ring. The company announced its first-ever Smart Ring in India, marking a step forward in the segment.

The smart ring will be able to track your health and fitness, same as smartwatches from the brand. It is also water and sweat resistant, meaning it's good for daily wear and during physical activities.

Boat Smart Ring: Works as a Smartwatch

The Boat Smart Ring is made out of ceramic and metal, and can do everything that a smartwatch can, sans the display. The ring can track your steps, distance and calories burnt on the go. It can also monitor your heart rate during physical activities.

The ring is equipped to track sleep and menstrual cycles as well. It comes with a body temperature monitor and a sensor to measure Sp02 levels of the body.

How do you Operate?

The Boat Smart Ring is controlled using touch controls, and you can do it single-handedly using the adjacent finger to slide over the edges. The ring syncs with Boat's companion app that gives you all the analytics and information.

The Boat Ring will appeal to those who don't like to wear watches, but still want to track their vitals. It's almost a weightless, invisible alternative. But this isn't the only smart ring in the market. Meditech company Ultrahuman also offers a smart ring along with its subscription package, while Oura has a commercially available smart ring. And if you recall, Amazon too has a smart ring available in some markets, with Alexa enabled.

Boat Smart Ring: Pricing and Availability

The Boat Smart Ring will be available on Amazon, Flipkart, and Boat's official websites. The company is yet to reveal the pricing of the product and the date of availability. We expect it to be available close to the festive season.
