Forget charging your Smartwatch, Powerwatch X smartwatch runs on body heat
The PowerWatch X uses thermoelectric energy converter to power up the device using body heat.
PowerWatch has announced an updated version of its smartwatch at the ongoing CES 2018. The PowerWatch X uses thermoelectric energy converter to power up the device using body heat. The idea behind this technology is much appreciated as we will no longer have to use batteries or power sources for the smartwatches.
The earlier version of the PowerWatch X was announced back in 2016 by Matrix Technology. Back then it was a rather new and interesting concept to fuel the smartwatch's battery by using body heat of the user. However the 2016 PowerWatch was not able to live upto the expectations and was embedded with limited and basic features of fitness tracking.
The company claims that the updated version of Powerwatch X smartwatch will live upto its expectations to deliver on technology and features. Unlike its previous version, the new PowerWatch X smartwatch features notifications via Bluetooth. The new PowerWatch X features accurate calorie counting and also measure steps like its predecessor, as claimed Matrix Technologies.
It is still not clear by when the smartwatch will launch in India, however the demo version is available at the ongoing CES 2018. It is still unclear how the notifications will look on the device.
When it comes tosmartwatch charging, other smartwatch manufacturers are also looking for an alternate source of power like solar power and kinetic energy charging.
We would like to get our hands on PowerWatch X smartwatch and verify all the claims made by the company.
It is still not clear by when the smartwatch will be launched in India;however according to the sources the PowerWatch X smartwatch is priced at $249.99 and will be available shortly .
