Garmin has expanded its fitness smartwatch portfolio in India with the launch of the Forerunner 70, Forerunner 170, and Forerunner 170 Music. Designed primarily for runners and fitness enthusiasts, the new wearables feature AMOLED displays, built-in GPS, advanced health monitoring, and Garmin's training tools.

While the Forerunner 70 focuses on offering a balanced fitness experience, the Forerunner 170 Music adds onboard music storage and offline playback for users who prefer phone-free workouts.

The Garmin Forerunner 70 is priced at Rs. 32,990 and is available starting July 3 via the Garmin India website, Flipkart and authorised retail stores.

The Garmin Forerunner 170 is priced at Rs. 39,490, while the Garmin Forerunner 170 Music carries a price tag of Rs. 45,990. Both models will go on sale from July 4 through Garmin India's official website, Amazon and authorised retail partners.

Garmin Forerunner 70, 170, 170 Music: Specifications & Features

The Garmin Forerunner 70, Forerunner 170 and Forerunner 170 Music sport a 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a 390 × 390-pixel resolution and an optional always-on display mode. All three smartwatches are 5 ATM water resistant, making them suitable for swimming and everyday use.

The wearables come equipped with Garmin's Elevate wrist-based heart rate monitor, Pulse Ox sensor for blood oxygen monitoring, an accelerometer and an ambient light sensor. The Forerunner 170 and Forerunner 170 Music additionally feature a barometric altimeter and thermometer for enhanced outdoor activity tracking.

Garmin has included several health and wellness features across the lineup, including Sleep Score, Morning Report, Body Battery Energy Monitoring, Stress Tracking, Health Snapshot, Training Readiness, and Training Status. Users can also access Garmin Coach training plans for running, cycling and strength training, along with activity profiles for running, cycling, swimming, yoga, strength workouts and more.

For navigation and workout tracking, the trio supports GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellite systems for accurate location tracking. The Forerunner 70 packs 512MB of onboard storage and is claimed to deliver up to 13 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, up to 28 days in battery saver mode, and up to 23 hours in GPS-only mode.

Meanwhile, the Forerunner 170 and Forerunner 170 Music include 4GB of onboard storage and are rated to last up to 10 days in smartwatch mode, up to 19 days in battery saver mode and up to 20 hours in GPS-only mode.

The Forerunner 170 Music stands apart with onboard music playback support. Users can download playlists from supported music streaming services directly to the watch, store songs locally, and listen through paired Bluetooth earphones without carrying a smartphone. It also offers controls for music playing on a connected phone.
