Garmin Launches ‘Pro’ Models Of Fenix 7 Epix 2 Smartwatches With Flashlight, Solar Cells, 32GB Storage
Garmin has launched the Fenix 7 Pro and Epix 2 Pro. These premium smartwatches have received several upgrades, which are now standard across all models.
Garmin has introduced Pro models for its Fenix 7 and Epix 2 series smartwatches. Let's take a look at all the available details such as specifications, features, price, and availability of these upgraded "Pro" variants.

Garmin Epix 2 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro Smartwatches Specifications, Features
The Epix 2 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro share a lot of specifications, except the display technology. The Epix line features an AMOLED display, while the Fenix series has Memory-In-Pixel (MIP) displays.
Needless to say, both the display types are power efficient, especially in Always On Mode. Although the difference between the two display types has minimized significantly, the AMOLED display used in the Garmin Epix Pro smartwatch reportedly has better fidelity.
The Garmin Epix 2 Pro is available in three sizes, unlike its predecessor which was available in 47mm dial only. Buyers can get a 42mm, 47mm, or 51mm model with a 1.2", 1.3", or 1.4" display, respectively.
Garmin claims the 47mm model of the Epix 2 Pro can last up to 16 days in smartwatch mode, and 6 days with Always-On Display mode enabled. GPS tracking will bring down the battery life to 42 hours or even 32 hours if users enable the more accurate multi-band mode.
The Garmin Fenix 2 Pro claims 22 days of battery life, 73 hours of GPS tracking, or 48 hours with multi-band enabled. Garmin has included a brand-new optical heart rate sensor (Elevate V5) within the new smartwatches.
Garmin has added features such as shaded-relief maps, weather overlays, "split-screen mode" (showing both a map and performance metrics), new Endurance and Hill scores, and more. Some reports even claim there's ECG hardware on board.
Garmin has significantly standardized features across the Epix 2 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro. All models have a flashlight, with two-color LEDs (two white LEDs and one red LED). These can be used for illumination or as a strobe light in case of night-time activity or emergency.
All the newly-introduced smartwatches have solar cells on the front. It is no longer an optional feature. All models have 32GB of internal storage, which can be used for offline maps as well as offline music. Moreover, multi-band GPS is available on all models.
